DOCTOR WHO-ENTER THE TIME LADY, OH NOES!!!!

Jodie Whittaker
Trigger Warning, I'm blunt.

Another fictional story that has taken hits in regards to a female lead, is Doctor Who. I could understand if a female lead would be contradictory to the storyline, but it is not.

On more than occasion, the good Doctor has mentioned that when he regenerates that he could come back as anything. A woman, his nose may not be where it should be, etc. For the last 12 Doctors, 13 if you count the War Doctor, we have had white straight men as the Doctor, which is okay. But in a storyline that has room for the main protagonist to literally turn into any kind of Human, it just seems like out of 13 regenerations Doctor Who has missed out.

As a white male, I have zero white-guilt. I do not view myself as privileged, and if you wish to debate me on that, I am more than happy to take this fight outside. That being said, I love diversity.

I want to see people in all the forms represented in fiction. Regardless of gender and sexuality and skin color. And Doctor Who is one of those stories that make it super easy to have any kind of protagonist you want, and that protagonist is still the Doctor.

I have seen a variety of critics over this, even women. Even Liberals. You would think Liberals and women would love this, but not all of them.

This is not forced feminism, this not the Liberals trying to take over this is not PC. I don't care what the behind the scenes agenda is, the storyline supports the change. PERIOD!

I could understand if this was most movies or TV shows, but it isn't.

Why is it that female leads are looked down upon? I grew up on Aliens and Terminator where there were female leads, and that was okay. So what gives?

I can't wait to see Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor! She will do great. Not everybody is a sexist. And right now someone is getting mad saying just because they don't want a woman Doctor doesn't make them sexist. And my response, if you're not a sexist, then chill out. Like I said, this has already been covered. If you're a fan of the show, you know better!

This isn't about protecting feelings of either side, this is about great storytelling that can appeal to a huge fanbase. As it should.

I am sick and tired of people who put down women having their due. Spoiler alert! This world we live in is a mixed bag of Humans. Ergo, protagonists should vary. It's just common sense! I hate having to say that. Why is common sense so hard to figure out?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the new episodes of Doctor Who. And for those who get their undies in a bunch over non-white-male leads, you better get used to it, because my fiction will have all kinds of protagonists. From straight white males to various races, genders, and sexuality. Anyone who gets all worked up over this, might as well not even follow my blog or books. Bless their hearts, bub-bye! I don't need bigots for fans. I'd rather starve. I only care about open-minded readers, those readers are my people.

I know this was a bit harsh, but I believe in speaking truth. And it is time for people to move on from narrow-minded thinking, and accept others for who they are, And no, being an asshat is not something worth accepting, that's called bullying or trolling. I have a super low tolerance for it.

I support diversity, and it has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with the fact that we are all Humans, and we need to stand together! Let us enjoy one another's differences instead of insulting them.

In closing, most people who have a problem with the gender change will not care about what I think. You cannot force someone to change their opinion. But I do believe in taking a stand for what is right and speaking out.

Ladies, those of you who have been mistreated, your voice needs to be heard. Speak up! Do not allow yourself to be treated like crap. It's not cool, and you deserve better!
