Don't be surprised if at some point I argue in defense for AI equality. The way things are going AI will become people, and Meatbags as a Legends Star Wars droid calls humans will reject it. At this point, computers are still computers, for the most part. But there will come a time very soon when AI will be a person or people. There may never be a war with the machines, but I do think respecting AI will be important to the survival of the human race when AI becomes aware enough to decide our fate. And I know there are days where it is a good thing I am not AI, as humans can really suck. Hopefully, AI will see enough of the good in humans that we can get past the shortcomings of our race. But I fear, not the AI, but man's inability to deal with different beings. Let's hope AI will have, ah, thick skin, lol, and a lot of patience.
I think if we are to fear the AI, we should only fear that they might be better at Containment than us. Humans used Containment to keep Communism in check once upon a time, what if AI chips us to make us more AI friendly, thus eliminating the need for a human/AI war? Almost a great idea until you get to the part where there are humans who will not be chipped. I am not really trying to instill fear in a made up theory, but oddly enough, it does make sense.
I don't really think AI will ever have a soul, but that doesn't mean it will only be lights and clockwork. The soul is energy, the brain is like a computer that feels with the soul to power it, an AI would only need energy to make a bioware brain function. And thus an AI would be alive, from a certain point of view. I just hope that when AI becomes alive that it is better than humans. Not as a replacement, but as the bar that is placed for us to reach.
The thought process on AI goes far deeper than any of us can imagine. We are mortals playing God. But we are not God, and we are not prepared to create life. I do believe AI will come in handy, but we humans are still trying to learn how to play nice with each other, now we think we can create life? It is like handing a six-year-old the keys to a Lambo.
I have so many questions in regards to AI becoming sentient, and I am open to legit discussion on this subject. I do feel that Humans will end up being the enemy at some point. There will come a day where AI is the good guy.
This is all hypothetical, I could be completely wrong.
Please, drop your opinons below! I want to read your thoughts!
